(Assist Youth Enhance Capability Communication Development)
Project Implemeter: Kalimudan Culture and the Arts Center of General Santos City
Project under the Committee on SCCTA of National Commission for Culture and the Arts
I. Project Background:
The Youth Orientation Project implemented by Kalimudan Culture and Arts Center from General Santos City under the National Commission for Culture and the Arts in 2016 created a venue for selected Moro and IP Youth to engage in cultural activities that re-instate their diverse heritage as part of their consciousness. The project also provided a space for common dialogue between the two groups in finding common grounds to discuss harmonious relationships, challenges, and aspirations towards an understanding of building a ‘culture of peace’ among others. Outputs such as drafting of a common a resolution was undertaken, as well as, to envision a future ‘cultural project’ that the participants should devised after the event.
The envisioned cultural projects should be undertaken by the participants upon their return in their respective communities. These cultural ventures later then submitted to Kalimudan for evaluation, assessment and selection. It is to note that only two operations will be selected from the two groups, representing each of them.
Hence, these envisioned cultural enterprises will be enhanced, assisted and implemented through the Youth Orientation II or YOUTH-ORIENTED AND CULTURE-FOCUSED FORMATION IN THE ARMM AND IP COMMUNITIES.
