Kalinawa Art Foundation Indigenous Peoples' Visual Art Exhibit & Kalimudan CAC as Partner 2007-2010

The 1st SOCSARGEN Indigenous Peoples’ Visual Art Exhibit is an indication of the relationships established by the Foundation as an institution and by the members as individuals who has embraced and made others understand the mission of the Foundation in helping to develop the Indigenous Peoples’ visual art sector . Armed only with referrals from these friends, the first meeting with the referred contacts , gained the Kalinawa Art Foundation instant hosting partners with the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University and the Kalimudan Culture and Arts Center. The added cooperation of the Basic Education Assistance for Mindanao – PMU General Santos, Cotabato Annex Office under Mrs. Leticia Cabang, who provided children artists, volunteers and performers, resulted to a successful event . Nestor Horfilla, a respected personality in the art community and a valued friend of the Foundation lent his
talents in curating and organizing, to this event through event curator, Al-Nezzar Ali who is instrumental in identifying most of the artists from the far flung SOCSARGEN Indigenous Peples’ communities. A total of forty six artists from ten Indigenous Peoples’ communities participated and registered one hundred eleven art pieces. A celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ visual art took form from July 25 - August 1, 2007 at the HR Lobby of the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University..
